Yesterday (April 8), tour dates were released for Aerosmith's 'Let Rock Rule' tour with Slash featuring Myles Kennedy as the trek's supporting act. In celebration of the upcoming run, Aerosmith returned to Hollywood's Whisky a Go Go for the first time in over 40 years yesterday for a mini-gig with Slash as a special guest. And you can watch the entire show above!

The 'Let Rock Rule' tour doesn't kick off until July 10, but the free kickoff celebration happened yesterdat. As Aerosmith (minus guitarist Brad Whitford) took the stage, singer Steven Tyler declared, "Ladies and genitals! Welcome to the Whiskey! You love this band almost as much as I do?" Aerosmith cranked out 'Draw the Line,' 'Same Old Song and Dance,' 'Pink' and 'Walk This Way' before inviting Slash out to join them for 'Mama Kin' and 'Train Kept a Rollin'.'

"The first time we played here was December 3, 1973," Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry told the crowd as the show concluded. "It was the first time formally here but also the first time in California. The first time west of the Mississippi was right here!" [via Billboard]

“Aerosmith is one of my all time favorite bands, and one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time,” Slash recently said in a press release. “It’s an honor for me to go out and tour with them and  keep the rock 'n' roll banner flying high.” "The writing’s on the wall -- Aerosmith and Slash," adds Joe Perry. We’re gonna let rock rule this summer.  Catch us if you can.”
