deadCenter Film Festival is kicking off Thursday night with a special showing of  ‘Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry’ – a documentary profiling China’s most famous artist and outspoken activist.

Ai story has made headlines since he was detained by the Chinese government, his new studio was destroyed and his blog taken down by the police. But Ai continued to create art and be outspoken and avid critic of what is happening in his country.

The documentary shot by first-time filmmaker Alison Klayman follows Ai and his journey of speaking against government oppression. Klayman gained unprecedented access to Ai while she was covering China as a journalist.

‘Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry’ – has received Sundance Special Jury Prize and Official Selection Miami International Film Festival 2012.
