Alter Bridge are back to writing new material. In a new interview with Myles Kennedy, the vocalist spoke about his current process for gathering ideas, revealing Alter Bridge will convene in April to begin hashing out their sixth album.

Both Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti had big years in 2018 with their respective solo projects. Tremonti released the acclaimed concept album A Dying Machine this year, while Kennedy put out his debut solo effort, Year of the Tiger, receiving very positive reviews for the work inspired by the death of Kennedy’s father.

While speaking with My Global Mind, Myles Kennedy spoke about Alter Bridge’s immediate future, ”After I finish with the press today, I'll get back to writing. Mark Tremonti has been doing the same thing. We will reconvene in April and make a record. There are a whole bunch of ideas being thrown around. It's pretty exciting stuff. It is too early to tell what the vibe is just yet or what will make the cut. Mark and I tend to come up with a lot of ideas that we throw up against the wall to see what will stick. The songs we pick will decide the mood of the record and we won't know that until April."

With an April date cemented, the chance of Alter Bridge releasing an album in 2019 is pretty damn high. Stay tuned as more Alter Bridge news comes in.
