Eurovision is a long-running song contest dating back to the 1950s in which each participating country selects a song for the annual competition. This year's entry from Armenia just so happens to be co-written by Black Sabbath‘s Tony Iommi.
Trivium frontman Matt Heafy has been covering the Opeth song 'Harvest' at some recent solo acoustic shows, including one in New York that Loudwire reviewed. Now, a video of Heafy performing the song in a studio has been released. (watch below)
Since its launch in 2008, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has quickly become one of top U.S. metal tours. Some of the biggest names in music have headlined the fest in the past, including Motorhead, Slayer and Slipknot in 2012. No bands have been announced yet, but the dates and cities for this year's trek have just been unveiled.
In late 2012, the Offspring toured with Dead Sara. During the Offpsring's set, Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara would join the band for a stripped down version of 'Gone Away.' A video of an October performance of the song at a show at the Hollywood Palladium, as well as footage of the pair recording a studio version of the song, has been released (watch below).

After a decade together, the Memphis band Egypt Central are breaking up. Bassist Joey Chicago and drummer Blake Allison have posted a message about the demise of Egypt Central and their formation of the new band Devour the Day.
Hatebreed's new album, 'The Divinity of Purpose,' will be released Jan. 25 in Europe and Jan. 29 in the United States, and now the band has announced a headlining U.S. tour kicking off in late January.
