Last year, we paid close attention to the Wichita's, trying to find and map out the best times and roads to see those warm Fall colors. Unfortunately, most of the trees along the roads in SWOK aren't of the color-popping variety... but that doesn't mean Oklahoma isn't awesome this time of year.

The Ouachita Mountains in Eastern Oklahoma are home to more than just pot grows and meth labs. The Fall foliage there is the best this state has to offer. A true natural collection of color-popping species, and luckily for us, there's a state road that runs right through the middle of it all.

The Talimena National Scenic Highway is a 54 mile winding route through some of the most beautiful country in Oklahoma, crossing over into Arkansas.

The perfect detail to this story is, you have enough time to plan a trip over there before peak season sets in. Officials are predicting the best colors to pop from October 19th through November 4th... That being said, here's the catch... it's about a four and a half hour drive from Lawton to start down the trail.

If you're up for planning a trip, here's the official site that'll have all the answers.
