Black Sabbath Inspire New 3D Horror Maze at Universal Studios
The resurgence of Black Sabbath and their iconic music is the driving force behind a new Halloween attraction. Universal Studios in Hollywood is capitalizing on the legendary band’s mojo with a new 3D Halloween maze, inspired by their music and the themes behind it.
Premiering at Universal Studios' annual Halloween Horror Nights event, the new ‘Black Sabbath: 13 3D’ maze revolves around the dark lyrics spun through Black Sabbath songs with themes of addiction, the occult and the apocalypse coming to life.
In addition to the music, the attraction also incorporates 3D video that call on Sabbath's new release ’13.’ Fans will traverse the maze to the sounds of songs like ‘Paranoid,’ ‘War Pigs,’ and ‘Iron Main’ as Lucifer and blood baths lead the way.
The band was excited about the idea of having their songs immortalized in the maze. “We were all really excited when Universal Studios Hollywood approached us about doing a 3D ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ maze based on our music,” Ozzy Osbourne said. “I’ve seen the drawings of what it will look like when it’s finished and it looks amazing. I can’t wait to walk through it on opening night in September.”
Sabbath and horror fans alike can get their first taste of the new attraction when this year’s Halloween Horror Nights opens at Universal Studios on Sept. 20.
