Bobaflex, ‘I’m Glad You’re Dead’ – Exclusive Video Premiere
It may be Valentine's Day, but there's no love in the air for Bobaflex. In fact, it's quite the opposite and you can see as much as the band exclusively premiere their new video for 'I'm Glad You're Dead' right here at Loudwire.
The band embrace the bitterness, as the video alternates between black and white and color, with the black and white shots set in a an old-time Western church as mourners gather to pay their respects to the deceased -- that is, with the exception of one, as Bobaflex frontman Shaun McCoy lets loose with some vitriol in lines like, "Can you hear me laughing / Cause I'm dancing on your grave."
The color shots juxtapose the funeral setting, with McCoy and his Bobaflex bandmates now leading a celebration with the fever-pitched crowd, thankful that they no longer have to live with the not-so-dearly departed.
McCoy exclusively tells Loudwire, "'I'm Glad You're Dead' is about a monstrous, abusive father of course, but who hasn't secretly been relieved or happy someone was dead? From Osama Bin Laden to a sex offender in your neighborhood, most people in their lifetime have said, 'I'm glad that a--hole's dead.' The song has some dark humor thrown in as well and the title is an homage to Jack Nicholson's Joker."
'I'm Glad You're Dead' can be found on Bobaflex's 2013 release, 'Charlatan's Web.' The disc is currently available at both iTunes and Amazon. You can catch Bobaflex rocking songs from the disc on tour. Their current itinerary can be seen below.
