Body Count, ‘No Lives Matter’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

There has been plenty of buzz surrounding the upcoming Body Count album, and we at Loudwire are proud to join with The Boombox for a joint premiere of the new video for Body Count’s single “No Lives Matter.”

“It’s unfortunate that we even have to say ‘Black Lives Matter.'” says Ice-T, opening the video with a bit of social commentary. “I mean if you go through history, nobody really gave a f–k. I mean you kill black people in the street, nobody went to jail, nobody goes to prison, but when you say ‘Black Lives Matter’ and then you say ‘All Lives Matter,’ that’s like if I were to say ‘Gay Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter,’ or I say ‘Women’s Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter.’ You’re diluting what I’m saying. You’re diluting the issue. The issue isn’t about everybody. It’s about black lives at the moment, but the truth of the matter is, they don’t really give a f–k about anybody if you break the s–t all the way down to the f–king dirty ass truth.”

After that bit of commentary, a blistering guitar lick forces its way into your consciousness, kicking off an aggressive, in-your-face performance from Body Count with a message that deserves to be heard. Along with the commanding performance, the band members are shown in black and white as statistics pop up on the screen. The clip hits you with statistics on poverty, police killings and conviction rates in those cases, a racial breakdown of police killings, stats on hate crimes and more, before ending with a simple symbol — the word racism inside a circle with a line drawn through it.

“No Lives Matter” is featured on the upcoming Body Count album Bloodlust, due in stores March 31 via Century Media. The disc has already generated some early hype with the inclusion of special guests Dave Mustaine, Randy Blythe and Max Cavalera on the album, plus there is a Slayer medley of “Raining Blood” and “Postmortem” covered on the disc. Mustaine has gone on record, calling his cameo “by far my fave guest appearance.” See the full track listing and album art here.

You can pre-order the Bloodlust album from Body Count via Amazon or check at the band’s webstore for physical bundle options. And stay tuned for touring information. At present only an appearance at Chicago Open Air in July is on their schedule, but they’ve been rumored to be joining Megadeth for shows this year.
