It was only a matter of time before Christoph Waltz, perpetual movie bad guy, was cast as a James Bond villain. Always the bridesmaid! Although we know the real villain in the next James Bond film, aka ‘Bond 24,’ is clearly the lack of an official title—the film, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2016 and has already begun casting (obviously) and we have no title. Is ‘Bond 24’ too unprofessional? Is ‘The Force Awakens’ already taken?

The Daily Mail, our apparent source for all things Bond, has broken the news that Waltz has joined the cast of the next installment in the franchise, confirming that he’s indeed playing the role of antagonist. Sam Mendes is returning to direct the follow-up to ‘Skyfall,’ and if we're just going off of Javier Bardem’s Bond villainy, then we can safely place our excitement for Waltz’s Bond villain somewhere in the Very to Oh-God-This-Is-Going-to-Be-Nuts-Isn’t-It? range.

Waltz joins returning star Daniel Craig in the lead role of James Bond, along with Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and recently announced stars Lea Seydoux and Dave Bautista. The film still has plenty of time to figure out a title before it hits theaters on November 26, 2016. Meanwhile, you can see Christoph Waltz practicing for his Bond role in the upcoming films ‘Horrible Bosses 2’ and ‘Big Eyes.’
