When buying 'discount' firearms, there's always a risk. Unfortunately for this guy, it literally blew up in his face.

I feel bad for this guy. This is literally the first time firing his brand new Century International Arms AK-74... Who would have known catastrophic failure would happen?

Now, before we go any further, I'll just stop you right there... I've been called a 'gun snob' a few thousand times in my life, so lets keep this short.

As I tell many of my Taurus loving friends, you get what you pay for. This particular AK-variant manufacturer is known for cheaply priced firearms... ie, it's the $350 model on the shelf next to the $1,000 masterpiece... and you'll usually find some less-than-savory loser gun dealer behind the counter telling you 'it's just as good' so you'll give him your hard earned money... It's not the deal of a lifetime, it's a practical scam.

You see, CIA firearms are known for being finicky and problematic, though I can't say I've seen a brand new model grenade like that...

All the same, I've seen brand new Ruger's, Smith's, and Remington's do the same thing... in the factory... intentionally... while testing to find the breaking point...

The point being this. Never trust the opinion of someone who is trying to sell you something.

Never be afraid to whip out the web and do a little instant research.

Don't go knee-jerking a single bad review into forming your opinion about a gun.

And do have fun responsibly.

Guns are dangerous. They're more dangerous if you're stupid and cheap. Pay for quality, it's always worth it.

If you need a gun snob to hold your hand, pick me up... I'll go gun shopping with you.
