Bret Michaels thinks there's a connection between getting smacked by the scenery at the Tony Awards and the brain hemorrhage he had 10 months later.

He's suing CBS and the Tony Awards for failing to warn him about a piece of the set that hit him in the face in June 2009 during the Tonys. He suffered a split lip and broken nose.

Michaels had a brain hemorrhage last April, as well as a warning stroke. Michaels also says the Tonys could have not aired the incident, but the show played it up for ratings.

His lawsuit does not say how much he's seeking to recover. CBS declined comment, while a Tonys spokesman could not be reached.
