How important is the sound design for a video game? Check out this video for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare to find out audio's impact.

Video game design has been likened to creating a movie. And like in cinematic set pieces, audio quality and sound design is very important when crafting a game. The video above features an interview with Sledgehammer Games Audio Director Don Veca as he talked about the audio intelligence system in the game that allows for sounds to be unique, meaning you'll never heard the same kind of impact or explosion twice.

Because it's a futuristic game, the team had to create more futuristic sounds. They started by taking sounds grounded in reality and then trying to warp them to create something completely different. The result is a variety of sounds that are familiar but definitely have their own unique, sci-fi flavor.

Watch the video above to get snippets of the audio that will rock your world as bullets zip by and all manner of things explode in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, due for release on Nov. 4 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
