The Cameron University Alumni Association (CUAA) and the Aggie Parents Association are seeking nominations for the Family of the Year, a new award that will be presented during the university’s annual Homecoming activities. The honor will recognize a family whose members possess exceptional uniqueness, dedication and enthusiasm for their student(s) and Cameron University. A nomination form is available at Cameron.edu/alumni/homecoming or by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at 581-2988. Nominations must be received by Monday, January 27.

“With more than 100 years of Cameron history, we see hear the intricate family connections that many of our alumni, faculty, staff and students have with Cameron University,” says Jennifer McGrail, Director, CUAA. “We witness these same families working together to help better Cameron. This award is a way for the CUAA and Aggie Parents Association to recognize these stories and these families.”

The Family of the Year Award will be presented during the Aggie Family and Friends Awards Luncheon on Saturday, March 1.

In order to be eligible for the award, the family must be actively involved with Cameron University. It is not necessary for all family members to be Cameron students and/or graduates.

The nomination form requires a statement or letter explaining what makes the nominated family deserving of the award, including a description of the family’s dedication, loyalty, support and contributions to Cameron. Additional letters of recommendation on the family’s behalf may also be submitted.

A selection committee comprised of representatives from the CUAA, Aggie Parents Association, Cameron faculty and Cameron staff will evaluate the nominations.
