Great news to report for Cynic fans! The progressive and technical metal pioneers are set to release their third studio album, ‘Kindly Bent to Free Us,’ on Feb. 14, but in a way, the wait is already over. Cynic have unleashed the full album for streaming, so you can hear the entire thing right now!
Cynic are widely regarded as some of metal’s greatest minds. The group consists of master musicians, which is why fans are foaming at the mouth for ‘Kindly Bent to Free Us.’ The band has already premiered a few gems, including the record’s title track and ‘True Hallucination Speak,’ the latter of which we proudly introduced on Loudwire.
“Leap before you look,” says frontman Paul Masvidal. “‘Kindly Bent To Free Us’ is an epic album, full of cosmic riddles, alien transmissions and tasty riffs. Play it loud and play it often.”
Drummer Sean Reinert adds, “It’s a bold new sound for Cynic and marks a gigantic leap in the band’s progression. We’ve had a lot of time to let this material develop and gestate, and it finally feels ready to be unleashed on the world. I’ve been in trio mode with Malone and Masvidal flushing out a zillion and one details, and couldn’t be happier about what’s happening with these songs. They are truly alive!”
We highly recommend ‘Kindly Bent to Free Us’ for all music lovers, so head over to Pitchfork and listen to the disc in full!
