It's all coming together! After recently revealing the title and artwork for their new album Reaching Into Infinity, Dragonforce have now confirmed the release date for the disc, offered more info on the album and booked an intimate London show to kick off the promotion for the disc.

Fans can circle May 19 on their calendar as that is the day that Reaching Into Infinity will arrive via Metal Blade Records in the U.S. The band recorded the bulk of the album at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden with producer Jens Bogren, but also laid down tracks at studios in London, Witney (U.K.), Charleville-Mezieres (France) and in California.

"We were flying out, playing a festival, then back into the studio, then back out again," explains bass player Frederic Leclercq, who also handled the majority of songwriting on this album. "It was very intense and very tiring. I obviously played bass but also a lot of rhythm guitar, electric and acoustic, and lost my temper a few times -- I think we all did at some point, because we wanted to deliver nothing but the best."

The bassist continues, "I think we have proven that playing fast was something we were good at, so this time I wanted to bring even more diversity into our music. It's great to challenge ourselves instead of staying in a comfort zone, and I really wanted to experiment with Marc's vocals. I think people are going to be surprised at his brutality!"

As for the title of the disc, Leclercq states, "The title of the album explains pretty much what we are trying to do with our music. Today's world is really crazy - there is fear of the future, uncertainty. But the power of music is infinite, and it can give strength and hope to people."

In celebration of the new album, the band has just announced an intimate performance set to take place at London's Black Heart venue on April 12. "This is going to be insane! We always like to kick things off with some intimate shows and this will be the smallest London show we have done since doing 3 consecutive weeks at The Barfly back in 2005," state the band. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (Feb. 10). For more info, check here. Meanwhile, fans in the States can look forward to the band playing the Chicago Open Air festival on July 15 in Bridgeview, Ill. More dates will be announced soon.
