While we still wait to see if Velvet Revolver will continue, two of the band’s primary members shared a stage together again last Saturday (Aug. 16) at The Gorge in George, Wash. Bassist Duff McKagan turned up as a special guest during Slash‘s performance with his group, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

With McKagan around, they actually dug deeper into their history together pulling out Guns N’ Roses‘ ‘It’s So Easy’ to perform. It’s been quite the year for Duff when it comes to playing with his former Guns N’ Roses bandmates, as he played a handful of shows with the current GN’R lineup back in the spring, often stepping up to the mic for ‘It’s So Easy’ during those shows as well.

Slash and McKagan last played together in the on hiatus act Velvet Revolver. There had been some talk of the group finally getting around to replacing former frontman Scott Weiland earlier this year by none other than Weiland himself, but both Slash and McKagan have denied that anything is imminent.

McKagan, upon hearing that Velvet Revolver were “holding auditions,” stated, “I’m not aware that we’re auditioning right now and I think I would be aware.” He went on to add, “I think, you know, that’s a band, when it’s the right time to happen again, it’ll happen.”

Slash, meanwhile, stated that while Scott Weiland had shown interest in returning, they were still looking for another option. “The whole thing is we’re looking for another guy to replace him. It just hasn’t happened,” said the guitarist. “It’s dormant, but there’s activity under the radar.”
