Guns N' Roses fans were certainly holding out hope that former guitarist Izzy Stradlin would make his return to the band alongside original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, but the musician stated that it was not going to happen. The axeman has remained on the outside of the heralded reunion, but not out of the spotlight completely as he has posted a snippet of "Walkin'," a new solo song.

The clip was uploaded to Stradlin's official Twitter profile, an account he just launched earlier this year on Feb. 22. Accompanying the 10 seconds of sultry, blues-laden riffing and smooth multi-tracked vocals is a message that says, "Mixing new song for June release! Working title 'Walkin'.'"

Stradlin's solo career began with the release of Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds in 1992. The record churned out two Top 20 singles, "Shuffle It All" and "Somebody Knockin'" and was his only solo release to land inside the Billboard 200, reaching No. 142. Six years later, he began releasing albums at a more steady pace, turning out 10 more solo efforts since. Stradlin's last two solo singles, "Baby Rann" and "Upside" came in 2012.

When Stradlin activated his Twitter account, he posted a message declaring, "Izzy Stradlin fact.. At this point in time, I've no involvement in the upcoming April 2016 GNR shows." This post was made when the only pending Guns N' Roses show were booked for April, prior to the announcement of their summer U.S. tour.

Rounding out original members Axl, Slash and Duff in the current incarnation of Guns N' Roses is drummer Frank Ferrer, guitarist Richard Fortus and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese. A full list of upcoming GN'R tour dates can be found at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
