It's looking like 2014 will start off with some good will, as Falling in Reverse and Escape the Fate have announced plans to team up on the 'Bury the Hatchet' tour. This is a bill that many fans thought might never come after frontman Ronnie Radke's tumultuous split from Escape the Fate in 2008.

To his credit, Radke, who now fronts Falling in Reverse, came up with the idea for the trek for the fans, deciding it was time to put aside past differences and give older Escape the Fate fans a chance to see the onetime cohorts playing the same stage together again.

We spoke with both Radke and Escape the Fate's current frontman Craig Mabbitt about the trek and both revealed that the fans were the primary consideration in putting together the run. Radke explained, "I just woke up one day and thought what better philosophy could there be than offering them a tour, so they agreed and we're all set to do it on Jan. 15 ... and it's all for the fans. I know they'll be so excited, so I just can't imagine."

Mabbitt added that he's had a similar idea of putting together a trek with his former band Blessthefall, and while that hasn't happened yet, he's thrilled with the idea of playing shows again with Radke and his new group Falling in Reverse. "I got an email from Ronnie saying, 'Would you be down to do this?' and I said, 'You don't know how down I am. I've had this idea for a while,'" says Mabbitt. "So it came together pretty well, and all he had to do was ask."

As for getting past old wounds, Radke stated, "There's a lot of respect there, so there's no worry of bad stuff happening. It's been great and everyone's on the same page. It's like old times, cause I've had fun hanging out with the guys and it's all good."

And Mabbitt feels that the fans of the two bands will follow the groups' lead. He explains, "We pretty much told each other that people aren't going to be allowed to be sourpusses. It's just stupid. You don't belong here then. The only turmoil there that's been with our fans that we have seen has been that they think it's not okay to like both bands. And really, at the end of the day, it hurts both bands. It hurts both of us. So to have these kids be like it's water under the bridge, now you have two great artists that you can support."

Both bands are still figuring out what they will bring to the trek in terms of stage setup, but fans of both acts can definitely expect a show that is not to be missed. The tour gets underway Jan. 15 in Los Angeles and will make 24 stops before concluding on Feb. 14 in Pomona, Calif. Chelsea Grin and Survive This will provide support on all dates. Tickets for all dates will go on sale this Thursday, Oct. 31. See the full itinerary below.
