Family Celebration to Kick-Off New Year for the Lawton-Fort Sill Community
The public is invited to attend the Holiday in the Park’s “New Year’s Eve Family Celebration “, Wednesday, Dec 31, 2014 from 10:00 pm thru Midnight, Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Elmer Thomas Park.
The event will be held on the park’s Festival Pad (near the Holiday House) under a tent located near the NW 3rd Street and NW Ferris Avenue entrance. Starting at 10pm, singer/songwriter Ciera MacKenzie will entertain.
The Holiday House concession will open at the same time with hot chocolate and hot coffee available for purchase. Then at the stroke of midnight, there will be a firework display sponsored by the wonderful Lawton Firefighters Association.
This event is free and donations to Holiday in the Park are greatly appreciated. There is limited seating under the tent, the public is invited to bring your lawn chairs to comfortably enjoy the performance and the fireworks.
Please no pets, service animals only, no alcohol or personal fireworks.

About Ciera MacKenzie
Ciera MacKenzie is a talented 13 year old singer/song writer from Lawton, Oklahoma. She is a true “country girl” who loves to sit on the hay bale on their little farm reading and writing songs. In fact, last year she and Dave Wilson, the owner and producer of Black Lab Studios, produced her first CD titled: “Thoughts from a Hay Bale.” She has been surrounded by patriotism her entire life. Her father is a Veteran and her mother is an officer in the Army at Fort Sill. She is endorsed by Daisy Rock Guitars and is currently working on a soundtrack for the film, “Closure Movement”. Most recently, she opened for Big & Rich in front of an audience of 12,000 people. She just received nominations for Nashville Universe Awards including: Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, and Nashville Shooting Star Award.
