It's true! In keeping with the strange continuity of the franchise, Lucas Black is being brought back as Sean Boswell for 'Fast and Furious 7' to co-star alongside franchise regulars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

For those not keeping track, Black starred in the spinoff movie 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' in 2006 when Universal was unsure how to continue the franchise. There he co-starred with Sun Kang, who was killed off in that movie, but came to be one of the stars of the next three films in the franchise. Director Justin Lin said that the fourth through sixth films were prequels to 'Drift,' a theory that was then paid off in the end-credit sting of this summer's 'Fast and Furious 6.' Now that the story has moved into a post-'Drift' timeline, it seems that Black's character can be involved again.

And, as reported by Deadline, Lucas Black isn't just back for the seventh entry, he's being signed to star in the next three sequels, which means that Universal is likely already thinking about the eighth entry in the franchise. Shooting on 'FF7' seems to have just begun (going by the pictures Diesel posted on Facebook this weekend), which suggests that Black's role is either small or that they've been keeping this under wraps for a while. 'Fast and Furious 7' is scheduled to hit theaters July 11, 2014.
