The First Baptist Church of Lawton and Ft. Sill is putting the final preparations for their presentation of their 36th annual Living Christmas Tree, coming this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Church, located at the corner of Fifth and B Ave in Lawton.

The 100-person choir will be performing this year's theme "At Last Noel", featuring many Christmas standards performed in synchronization with 80 thousand lights and a live band.

Even though the performance is this weekend, this year's production has been in rehearsal for several months. Associate Pastor Mike Neff searched for a theme all summer long, finally coming across "At Last Noel" in September. He then revealed the theme to the choir in September and they got right to work on it.

The 100-person choir features members old and new, including soloist Sarah Parsons, who joined the church recently, while this year's presentation was still in the idea stage. Parsons joined First Baptist when her husband was deployed at Ft. Sill. Becke Hoskins, who has been a member of the Christmas Tree choir for 25 years, tells us that every year is different, but that this year's performance will "take your breath away". Hoskins went on to say that this year is a little different because of the diversity of the performances, from Parsons monologue and  solo as Mary, to a hula performance to "Oh Holy Night".

The program is scheduled to run about two hours. Performance are slated for Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 6 pm, and two performances on Sunday, at 3pm and 6pm.

Admission is free and childcare will be provided.
