The end credit sequence from the Oscar-nominated "American Sniper" contains actual footage used by TV news stations of the fallen Texas hero's funeral procession.

During one Texas showing of the movie following its monumental opening weekend, theatergoers in the nearly sold out showing were stunned silent in their seats as the footage of Kyle's funeral procession -- which passed through Round Rock, Midlothian and several other cities -- played on the big screen.

Most had seen the footage themselves when it had originally aired. Some may have even been at the side of the road to pay their respects or knew someone who had.

It was a powerful moment and a testament to the legacy of the Odessa native, who served four tours in Iraq. Kyle is credited as the most deadly sniper in U.S. military history, with 160 confirmed kills.

Kyle was buried in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, Texas in 2013.
