Ghost pull off one pretty awesome and visually stunning live show, but have you wondered what might happen if you pulled back some of the theatrics and amplification? Fans in five cities will get the answer to that later this month when they play a series of acoustic in-store performances at various record stores.

Will a freshly unplugged ghoul rock a cool acoustic guitar riff of "Cirice"? Could Papa Emeritus III deliver an intimate version of "Majesty"? While the setlist remains to be revealed, it should be interesting to see the veteran band in a more stripped back setting.

The trek begins Aug. 18 at Silver Platters in Seattle, with shows to follow in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Baltimore and Brooklyn. All of the performances surround the release of the band's Meliora album, which arrives on Aug. 21 via Loma Vista Records. You can pre-order this disc in a variety of options here.

Fans can also look forward to catch Ghost in a more traditional and theatric setting when they take off on the "Black to the Future" North American tour this fall. Dates can be found here. As for the "Unholy/Unplugged" acoustic in-store trek, see those dates and a trailer for the tour below.
