The Great Plains AMBUCS chapter will host its 3rd annual 5k Mudder's Day Run on Saturday May 7th, starting at 9 a.m. Day-of registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with race heats or "waves" going out every five minutes after the 9 a.m. start time. The course will feature more than a dozen obstacles, including mud pits, a tire field, wall climbs, creek beds a mudslide and more!

The 5k will take place at the Louise D. McMahon Park, at the corner of 38th and SW Lee Blvd in Lawton and the proceeds will go towards Great Plains AMBUCS Chapter's mission of providing Amtrykes and wheelchair ramps to disabled residents and scholarships to therapists who work with the disabled.

National AMBUCS, Inc is a charitable service organization consisting of a diverse group of men and women dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. AMBUCS was founded in 1922. Currently there are over 5,000 AMBUCS members in over 140 chapters spread across 30 states. The Great Plains AMBUCS Chapter was chartered in 1981. Members fulfill the AMBUCS' mission by providing  AmTryke therapeutic tricycles to individuals with disabilities, building wheelchair access ramps for individuals with disabilities and providing scholarships to college students in therapy fields of study.
