Several months ago we learned that Stan Lee would not be making a cameo in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' making it the first Marvel Studios film in which the legendary comic book creator wouldn't be seen -- but now comes word that Lee will be making his traditional cameo appearance after all.

Back in January, Lee said he wouldn't be popping up in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as he had in all of Marvel's other in-house films (as well as the 'Spider-Man' and 'Amazing Spider-Man' films), explaining that he hadn't created the characters and he wasn't even sure who they were, anyway.

But apparently he knows who they are now, as Variety reports that this past weekend at the c2e2 expo in Chicago, Lee confirmed that he'd changed his mind. When asked by a fan if he'd be making a cameo, Lee responded:

I did, already. I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl — a very pretty girl — that’s all I can tell you.

Whether you enjoy Stan Lee's goofy cameos or not, they have become just as expected as the post-credits sequence in every Marvel Studios film. It's sort of comforting to see him hanging around, like a geriatric Where's Waldo. And you'll be able to see him again when 'Guardians of the Galaxy' hits theaters on August 1.
