Halestorm fans are patiently waiting for the follow-up to 'The Strange Case Of …' album, but at least one new track has found its way into the band's live set. The group performed the song 'I Like It Heavy' during their recent gig in St. Petersburg, Fla. as part of the encore for the evening.

In the fan-shot video seen above, you can tell that the track has an infectious guitar lick and a clap-along beat that's sure to make it a future live favorite amongst fans. The song itself has an undeniable groove, while Lzzy Hale gets to show off some serious ferocity in the chorus.

Halestorm also trotted out an inspired cover of Judas Priest's 'Dissident Aggressor' during the set. The studio version of the cover turned up on the band's 'ReAniMate 2.0: The Covers EP in the fall of 2013, but the song definitely adds a jolt to the set when played live. In this case, the track perfectly transitions into 'You Call Me a Bitch Like It's a Bad Thing,' as can be seen in the fan-shot video below.

The group spent a good portion of the early fall in the studio, trying to finish their next studio album. Lzzy Hale told 'Loudwire Nights' host Full Metal Jackie that the band has been trying to capture the energy of their live sets on album and she explained, "This record has been more challenging and I’ve learned far more than I did on the past two records. You really are depending on yourself. It starts and ends with us. That’s scary but it’s also really exciting. But when it works and you get to listen back to your song that you just recorded, and you feel the excitement of your bandmates and you can hear all the nuances that make you a band -- that’s something you can’t even explain."

Halestorm are currently touring to finish out the year, but look for a new disc and more tour dates coming in 2015.
