Heaven and Earth have put in the time, and the band is ready to emerge from recording with their fourth studio album. The disc is titled Hard to Kill and it's now on target for a Sept. 29 street date via Quarto Valley Records.

Founder/guitarist Stuart Smith and powerful vocalist Joe Retta return with a lineup that's filled out by bassist Lynn Sorenson, keyboard and organ player Mike Mangan and drummer Steve Wilson. The five-piece outfit were joined in the studio by acclaimed drummer Kenny Aronoff and keyboardist Ty Baillie making guest appearances on select tracks.

Retta says of the new album, "Rock and the blues have had a huge influence on our music. With sexy grooves and powerful attitudes, these tunes reflect the time with soulful power and lyrical punch." Smith adds, "I feel this is the most powerful and exciting Heaven & Earth album to date and we’re looking forward to bringing the music to the fans."

Getting things off on the right foot, Heaven and Earth have issued a lyric video for their new single "The Game Has Changed." The bluesy rocker bounces through the verses with aplomb, while the chorus rocks it out a little more. Take a listen to the full song in the player above.

Heaven and Earth have launched a Pledgemusic pre-order for Hard to Kill so fans can not only pick up the album in the format of their choosing, but also choose some pretty cool add-ons if they want more out of the experience. Check out the Pledgemusic campaign here.

Meanwhile, you can expect Heaven and Earth to return to the road. At present, only a pair of November shows are booked, but expect more dates to be added as the new album nears.
