There's really no other way to say this, except to go outside and scream at the top of your lungs, "OUCH!"

Like many people before him, Josh Miramant did a BASE jump. Unlike probably every one of those people, though, he did it with metal hooks pierced in his back -- four eight-millimeter hooks, to be precise. A parachute was then attached to the hooks.

Josh, who hails from Maine and now lives in San Francisco, took the 377-foot jump in Thailand. And you know what else is crazy about him? His first attempt at BASE jumping only took place three weeks before this epic stunt.

Yes, he probably got a rush from the jump, but the hooks will most likely go down as the most memorable part of the stunt. Says Miramant, "I'd never had any other piercings before and it was by far the most painful part of the whole experience." He adds, "It takes about 20 minutes to get all four done and despite the appearance of this, I am not a masochist -- I just came to enjoy the whole experience despite the pain, but I was certainly happy when the piercing was complete."

Miramant also said the jump wasn't painful because when the canopy opened his adrenaline took over, despite the blood trickling down his back. That's definitely better than the alternative of passing out somewhere between the top of the cliff and the moment before he landed in the water.
