Scream for me, Iron Maiden fans! After adorning hundreds of different pieces of merchandise and related items, the band's infamous mascot Eddie will adventure through various worlds borrowing themes from Maiden's albums in a brand new comic book from the legendary Heavy Metal magazine.

Expected to arrive this summer (yes, it's already summer, so that means soon!), the action will take cues from Iron Maiden's The Legacy of the Beast mobile role-playing game story arc where fans can battle characters (included over 20 different Eddies) of varying class types throughout different worlds and player-to-player arenas.

Heavy Metal gave Nerdist the scoop about the forthcoming comic (along with some page samples), explaining, "Eddie's immortal soul is shattered and strewn across the cosmos. Now, Eddie must journey across space and time to battle the twisted legions of the Beast, seek out the lost shards of his soul and bring order to the realms." The thrills will spill across the pages with the story written by Llexi Leon and Ian Edginton while Kevin J. West was tasked as the artist responsible for bringing it all to life as seen directly below.

Jeff Krelitz, the magazine's co-CEO, added, "As a lifelong fan of Iron Maiden, it is a privilege to publish the first comic giving a narrative to their iconic mascot, Eddie. When we discussed the potential of coming together on this project, it was immediately clear that there was no better home for Iron Maiden than Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal's nearly half-century-long history of either working with or launching the careers of only the most accomplished artists continues here with the amazing team Iron Maiden has working on this series."
