Die-hard fans of Jack White know all about his history -- and we're not talking about the work he did with the White Stripes (come on). Years ago, before he and Meg White changed the face of indie rock, instead of attending seminary in Wisconsin White went to Cass Technical High School, and at the young age of 15 took on an apprenticeship with a family friend who was an upholsterer.

That friend, Brian Muldoon, was also a musician, and the two of them, under the moniker the Upholsterers, put out one 7-inch together, 'Makers of High Grade Suites.' Well, now it looks like the two rockers actually recorded a second single: 'Your Furniture Was Always Dead ... I Was Just Afraid to Tell You.'

The story goes that in 2004, in celebration of Muldoon's 25th anniversary of being in the upholstery business, he and White hid 100 copies of 'Your Furniture Was Always Dead' in furniture that Muldoon was in the process of reupholstering. Today (Dec. 18), Third Man Records unveiled some very exciting news for White fans and vinyl collectors alike. Two of those rare singles have been unearthed.

"Recently Third Man Records has been made aware of the discovery of two different copies found by two separate individuals of the second single by the Upholsterers," White's label explains. "Third Man would like to share with everyone the cover art for this single, done by noted Detroit artist Gordon Newton."

Recently Third Man Records has been made aware of the discovery of two different copies found by two separate individuals of the 2nd single by the Upholsterers. This duo, comprising of actual upholsterers Jack White and Brian Muldoon, pressed 100 copies of this single and proceeded to hide them in furniture being reupholstered by Muldoon in 2004, in celebration of his 25th year in the business. In celebration of these discoveries, Third Man would like to share with everyone the cover art for this single, done by noted Detroit artist Gordon Newton.

While these particular singles have yet to appear on eBay, we're sure when they do, bidding will go through the roof (check out this original Upholsters 7-inch going for $1,200).
