Earlier this year, the Misfits announced that Jerry Only and Glenn Denzig have rejoined forces together in the influential punk act, shattering pre-conceived notions that the two would never step out onstage together again. With a pair of performances booked for Riot Fest in both Chicago and Denver, Only has provided some details regarding their preparation and if they'll continue playing after the festival appearances.

Speaking with Chicago's 97.9 The Loop (video below), the Misfits veteran revealed information about their set, stating, "The first reunion shows are going to be all classic material. We've already picked the set. I let Glenn write the set. It's his baby. It's a really good set. We've got about 22 songs that definitely are in, and we're probably gonna shoot for about 30 that we know before we walk out [onstage]."

Only went on to detail how the Misfits typically play 40 or 50 songs a night when he fronts the band and that they nearly topped the 100 song mark on their 25th anniversary. After performing their billed set, they continued playing at an after-party, tearing through dozens of additional tunes.

Before hinting at the possibility of more shows when he said, "It's gonna be us at the top of our game. And if we can live up to, and exceed, what people believed us to be, we're gonna try and keep going," the bassist explained his recent exercise regimen. Only has "dropped about 20 pounds" and stays active playing basketball and running in addition to rehearsing the set three times a night, said his brother and guitarist Doyle "looks like Hercules" and that Danzig is in "great shape."

Fans had long doubted the reunion of Only and Danzig would ever come to fruition given the public feud between the two stemming from merchandising rights among other issues. In an interview with Rolling Stone shortly after the reunion announcement, Only said, “We were never not friends, we were just adversaries. Larry Bird might not have liked Michael Jordan on the court, but when they go out to a bar they’re cool.”

Tickets for Riot Fest are available at the festival's website. The Denver installment will take place on Sept. 2 - 4 with the Chicago edition slated for Sept. 16 - 18.
