Johnny Marr Performs ‘How Soon Is Now?’ With Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood [Watch]
Johnny Marr was joined onstage by Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood at last night’s (Feb. 27) NME Awards, where the two teamed up for a performance of the Smiths classic ‘How Soon Is Now?’ Check it out above.
Marr was on hand to receive the Godlike Genius Award at the annual NME honors, and he performed the tune after accepting the prestigious trophy. He introduced ‘How Soon Is Now?’ as “a Manchester folk song” and handled Morrissey‘s lead vocals, with Wood dropping some dirty lead licks on top.
