Upon listening to an advance copy of Judas Priest's 'Redeemer of Souls' album, a song that stood out on the track list is the disc's final tune, 'Beginning of the End.' Immediately, Black Sabbath's latest album, ‘13,' came to mind, as that disc contains the song 'End of the Beginning.'

When we had the opportunity to sit down with Judas Priest leading up to the release of 'Redeemer of Souls' (due July 8), we just had to ask them about that coincidence. While on the topic, we also were curious to know if the success of Black Sabbath's '13' inspired Priest when they were in the studio recording 'Redeemer of Souls.'

"We're the old guard of metal," says Rob Halford about Priest and Sabbath. "Two of the biggest bands in metal that kicked it off, 40 years later, are still strong ... and saying important things musically."

Check out Judas Priest members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner discussing Black Sabbath above, and be sure to check out some previously posted interview segments below. 'Redeemer of Souls' is available for pre-order at iTunes.
