Judas Priest is releasing a collection of songs that are favorites of other metal performers.

The Chosen Few is songs compiled by Judas Priest with help from other metal artists who explain what the songs mean to them.  Ozzy Osbourne picked "The Ripper" due to the fact that the note at the beginning of the song is audible just below what dogs can hear.

Some of the other 17 tracks for the album came from other artists like Slayer, Motorhead, Black Label Society, Corey Taylor and Korn.

Lars Ulrich of Metallica says the "blueprint for the epic rock ballad " is "Beyond the Realms of Death."

The old rocker - Alice Cooper raps it up with "Living After Midnight" saying "it has the perfect marriage of great riffs and melodies.

The album is due out October 11th.
