King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack Saturday night, according to a Facebook post from singer-bassist DUg Pinnick. The veteran prog-rock band’s stickman (far right in above photo) apparently is in stable condition after being operated on at a hospital.

Pinnick first posted this message on Sunday afternoon: “Jerry had a heart attack last night. He was operated on and is in stable condition at the hospital. Were all waiting for more info. I will keep you posted.”

He then followed that post up with this message late Sunday night: “Julie said Jerry woke up pulling chords out, she says hes feisty! That’s a good sign! Thanks everyone for prayers and good vibes! It can only get better now!!!”

King’s X, who’ve been around for more than 30 years, were gearing up to hit the road for a U.S. tour set to kick off March 28 in Austin, Texas. With Gaskilll in intensive care, the tour has been canceled.
