Konami Entertainment announced their plans for this year's Gamescom event in Germany and you can expect some new information on Snake's newest exploits.

Konami is taking a two-pronged approach to this year's show, relying heavily on both Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Pro Evolution Soccer 2015, the latter being playable for the first time at a major public event. CVG reports Kojima himself will be in attendance to bring us the latest information on the highly anticipated title (we mean Metal Gear, not the soccer game).

We're excited for new Metal Gear details, but we're really hoping they come in the form of a new trailer. We don't know why Kojima doesn't work in Hollywood, because his trailers are always top-notch. The Phantom Pain's E3 trailer was easily one of the best features from the entire convention, and we hope to be able to say the same about Gamescom in a few weeks.

What else could Kojima announce? A firm release date would be great, because "2015" has 365 days in it and we'd like to adequately prepare for our next espionage-filled adventure. Perhaps we'll get a little more insight into Mother Base and how it will factor into the game, or maybe we'll get a little more information on the mysterious Skull Face. Whatever Kojima unveils, we're going to be paying attention.

Gamescom 2014 takes place August 13-17 in Cologne, Germany, and Arcade Sushi will be on top of covering the entire event. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will launch sometime in 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

If you aren't aware of Luke's obsession with Metal Gear in our 5x5 videos, you should be.
