Mental note: study up on chess moves before ever even considering taking on Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia. You'll understand why after watching the new video for the band's latest single, 'I Forgive (But I Won't Forget Your Name).'

In the Sitcom Soldiers-directed video (seen above), Scabbia has her way with her male bandmates on the chess board, flashing a winning smile while each of her opponents undergo increasing bouts of frustration as they try to take down the victorious Scabbia. The video itself is shot with purposefully scratched film and blurred peripheries, mirroring the well-worn chessboard that Scabbia and her group use in the clip.

As for the song, it's one of Lacuna Coil's more melodic efforts, though it does have a dark side to it with Scabbia and co-vocalist Andrea Ferro solidly conveying a requisite amount of angst.

'I Forgive (But I Won't Forget Your Name)' follows 'Nothing Stands in Our Way' and 'Die & Rise' off of the band's latest album, 'Broken Crown Halo.' If you like what you hear, the album is currently available for order at both Amazon and iTunes. You can also catch them out on tour this spring at these locations.
