Get ready to rock, Louisville, as the inaugural Louder Than Life festival is coming to town. Organizers have revealed that the first annual music event will take place over the weekend of Oct. 4-5 at Louisville's Champions Park.

In addition to presenting some of the top rock bands going on three major stages, the festival will also play host to some of the region's best bourbon and craft beers as well as a focus on "gourmet man food" that's sure to satisfy all the rock fans in attendance.

Danny Wimmer, the festival's producer and head of Danny Wimmer Presents, states, "When I first came to Louisville, I fell in love with the city, its diverse food, its bourbon and its culture. It screamed 'Louder Than Life' and I felt this was the perfect destination for this kind of rock festival."

Wimmer adds that he met with the Mayor's office, researched Louisville's history and sampled some of the region's cuisine and liquor before signing on to the festival. He concludes, "I've created the Louder Than Life festival to highlight these discoveries and celebrate the 'Culinary Capital or Bourbon Country.' And, of course, the culture of rock and roll and bourbon go hand in hand!"

Now that you're appetite has been sufficiently whetted, be sure to check back on June 5 at 8AM ET for the official lineup announcement for the 2014 Louder Than Life Festival. The lineup announcement, along with ticketing, lodging and camping details, will be found at the Louder Than Life Festival website.
