Nintendo's newest trailer for Mario Maker not only focuses on the creation of levels in the Mushroom Kingdom, but also how you alter stages on the fly to keep the mustached plumber going.

This latest gameplay footage of Mario Maker starts off with an introduction by Nintendo of America's President and COO, Reggie Fils-Aime, describing some of the things the Big N has in store for 2015. While Nintendo is hard at work on the next major Legend of Zelda for Wii U, it's also working on Splatoon, Majora's Mask 3D and Mario Maker. At first glance, you would think that Mario Maker just lets you create and alter levels from the various Super Mario Bros. titles for you to play, but there's much more.

Mario Maker uses a Mario Paint-inspired interface to help you change the levels to however you see fit. Are there a bunch of cannons on screen? You can pause the game and make them spit out coins instead of Bullet Bills. Is there an crazy path of Piranha Plants you can't cross? Pause the game and add a runway. You'll likely be limited in what you can do somehow (in terms of time and how much you can change), but it looks crazy fun. On top of that, you're able to switch from one Mario game engine to the next on the fly while still staying in the same level. In terms of engine types, you're able to switch between the original Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. U.

Mario Maker will launch sometime in 2015 exclusively for Wii U.
