Mark Tremonti will kick off 2013 in much the same way he ended 2012 -- fronting his "solo" band. Tremonti has received plenty of positive feedback for his 'All I Was' album and he's announced plans to continue touring overseas in early February, followed by a handful of new North American dates in late February and early March.

Tremonti will continue to employ Wolfgang Van Halen in the bassist spot in his live band. He's previously stated that he would like the group to continue with the Wolfgang as their permanent bassist and would be open to working around the musician's Van Halen schedule to make it work out.

Meanwhile, Tremonti's solo band isn't the only place the guitarist will be displaying his skills this year. The musician tweeted earlier this month that he and his Alter Bridge bandmates were meeting with management to map out their 2013 activities. Although specific details were not revealed, Alter Bridge are expecting to tour and release a new album this coming year.

Alter Bridge stepped out of the spotlight in 2012, as singer Myles Kennedy found steady work fronting Slash's solo band and the rest of the group members revisited their other band, Creed, while Tremonti also launched his solo project.
