It may be hard to believe, but Comic-Con is very, very close — next month, in fact. And that means that we’ll be hearing a lot more about this year’s panels and special presentations in the weeks to come. After sitting out last year’s con, Marvel is returning to San Diego in July and it looks like they’re bringing at least a couple of their upcoming superhero releases to Hall H.

Although the studio has yet to make a formal announcement about their plans for Comic-Con 2016, it appears that two of the MCU’s forthcoming films will have something to offer fans in San Diego. Over on Twitter, director Scott Derrickson teased a Doctor Strange appearance with this photo:

James Gunn responded, hinting that he’ll be on hand for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2:

Again, Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything just yet, but it seems highly likely that the studio will include both films in their presentation, which has long been one of the most exciting events in Hall H. Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives on May 5, 2017, so it’s a safe bet that we’ll get something from both films.

Meanwhile, Kevin Feige has promised fans that the director and star of Captain Marvel will likely be announced before the end of summer, and — barring any last minute issues with contracts or scheduling conflicts — we can probably expect that news to be revealed at Comic-Con as well.

This year’s Comic-Con runs from July 21 through the 24.
