Someone at Konami must have had their time zones mixed up, because the E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was put on Youtube a few hours early.
Konami’s Youtube account originally posted this new E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain earlier this morning. This upload must have been made in error, because it was immediately pulled offline almost as soon as it was posted. Luckily, thanks to Eurogamer we were able to see this trailer in its entirety. We get to see Big Boss go through hell and back, showing clips of war along with strong scenes of the bonds Snake and his men hold for each other.
We even see Big Boss interacting with Skull Face, the nefarious character responsible for most of the atrocities of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Watch as Revolver Ocelot tortures Otacon’s father, Huey Emmerich, even more. There are pleny of funeral and remembrance scenes throughout the trailer, with Snake lamenting the loss of his fallen Diamond Dogs comrades. In particular, Snake takes the cremated ashes of one of his fellow soldiers and rubs it across his face. The Mark Twain quote in the beginning of the trailer is an epic foreshadowing of what is to come: “Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will release sometime in early-to-mid 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
