Metallica recently played a once-in-a-lifetime gig at New York's legendary Apollo Theater, and the band is now sharing the experience with all of their fans via a new recap video featuring a performance of 'Master of Puppets' (watch above).

The 20-plus minute video includes Metallica playing 'Broken, Beat & Scarred' at soundcheck, then shows the band in the tuning room. James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo do some jamming, a little goofing around and mug for the cameras.

Then Lars Ulrich gets behind the drum kit for 'Hit the Lights,' and Hetfield sticks the mic in front of him and Ulrich does the singing. He's a little pitchy, but has a lot of enthusiasm. The video wraps up with the actual performance of 'Master of Puppets' from the Apollo show.

Metallica's concert movie 'Through the Never' has opened in 3D IMAX theaters, and will debut in regular 3D at theaters on Friday (Oct. 4). Band members are fanning out across the globe to promote the film. They are introducing some screenings and answering a few questions.

Ulrich will be in London Oct. 3 and 4. Trujillo will be in Tempe, Ariz. on Oct. 4 and San Antonio, Texas on Oct. 5. Ulrich travels to his home country of Denmark on Oct. 6 for a screening in Copenhagen. Hammett and Ulrich appear in Paris on Oct. 8 and Madrid on Oct. 9.
