There’s always been a Halloween-appropriate look to the Misfits.

So it’s only appropriate for the legendary punk band from New Jersey to release new music prior to trick-or-treating season. Get ready for ‘The Devil’s Rain,’ which comes pouring down on Oct. 4 and will be preceded by the start of a US tour.

It’s the first new Misfits album since the arrival of ‘Project 1950′ in 2003. ‘The Devil’s Rain’ was produced by fellow Jersey product Ed Stasium, who was behind the boards for the band’s ‘Famous Monsters,’ which dropped in 1999.

Led by founding member and bassist Jerry Only, the Misfits are set to begin a US tour on Sept. 23 in Pittsburgh. Prior to wrapping up Nov. 20 in Pesacola, Fla., the band will rock its home state of New Jersey on Oct. 28 with a gig at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville.
