Motley Crue made their much-teased big announcement on ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ on Thursday (Dec. 1) and here it is: The veteran rock act will be performing a 12-show residency Feb. 3-19, 2012, at the Joint at Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas.

The show will be an elaborate stage setup that will feature multiple forms of entertainment and stickman Tommy Lee’s 360-degree drum coaster that was unveiled at the band’s headlining tour this past summer.

‘We’re the first hard rock band to ever have a residency,” singer Vince Neil tells Piers Morgan. “We’re all about theater and over-the-top stage shows so it’s a perfect fit for us.”

In a press release, Neil adds, “It is a dream come true for me especially living in and loving Las Vegas,” while Lee offers, “I don’t know about you, but when I think of Motley Crue, I think of filthy sex, drugs, a REALLY big show and way too much fun … sounds like Las Vegas doesn’t it? A match made in heaven!!!”

The residency is being dubbed as ‘The Most Notorious Band in History Takes on Sin City.’ Tickets for the shows can be purchase right now at Ticketmaster if you use the pre-sale password SIN13. Room packages are available at the Hard Rock Hotel site.

Motley Crue will appear tomorrow at 9PM ET on CNN’s ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ for a full one hour interview. Check out a preview in which bassist Nikki Sixx talks about getting clean after his battle with heroin addiction, and watch a promo clip of Crue’s Vegas residency below.
