Murf’s Guns Is Hosting Free Active Shooter Training

It seems unimaginable, but the amount of random public shootings seem to be getting more and more spotlight in the news. For years, a 'That doesn't happen in our part of the country' has been the normal response, but as one of the most recent shootings has happened in Texas, our back yard seems to be getting smaller.

As any instructor will tell you, the absolute best defense a person has is preparedness. All of the marksmanship training in the world can't help you if you don't know how to respond when the time comes.

Luckily, there are those who are always looking to help in a time of need. Murf's Guns in Duncan is teaming up with the Duncan PD and Special Response Team to walk those interested through a what-if situation on Saturday, December 2nd in Duncan. It takes place at the First Baptist Church, and is free and open to the public.

Now, this isn't a firearms training course, though I'm sure Murf's either offers this or can put you in touch with someone who does. This is strictly a short course on how to react in the face of an unthinkable act. Think of it like studying for a test. The last thing you want is to be standing around without knowing what to do.
