I'll be the first to admit that when my daughter told me that I could make money just by shopping, I was skeptical.  I know you are supposed to save money, but make money?  Well, I'm here to tell you that I've been schooled, and now I'm telling everybody about this cool app.

A couple of admissions right off the bat.  Basically I cook only on special occasions; holidays, birthdays, or family get together. I imagine that I could make even more money if I were a better meal planner and shopped with weekly meals in mind, but basically, I stop by my local convenience big box store on my way home from work and pick up whatever I am feeling and that's what I work with.

So here's the deal, I've been an online Walmart shopper for years, so I have an account at Walmart.com.  What I didn't know is that I could make money by downloading the Walmart app to my phone and scanning all of my Walmart receipts.  It's called Savings Catcher and it's under the 'services tab'.

Next, you scan the bar code on all of you Walmart receipts.  You have 7 days to get them in!  Then the app does the rest.  It will compare advertised prices from competitors on eligible items and will credit you back with the difference if you paid more!

I know $17 doesn't sound like a lot, but just think what it could be if I really cooked!  In fact, it's almost enough of an incentive to make me want to cook more often!  Also, I've only been scanning receipts for a few months.  My daughter and her husband use the money to Christmas shop for their kids!  How nice to have a little savings account just because you have to eat!  I could not find this service online, so I imagine it's only available on the app. I'd say it worth a try.
