Whether or not Pablo Escobar has a certain date with destiny lined up in the second season of Netflix’s Narcos, he sure isn’t getting there without a fight. Chaos descends into Colombia with Pablo on the run in the first full trailer for Narcos Season 2, ahead of its September premiere.

Following “the biggest blunder in law-enforcement history” that allowed Escobar to escape his “prison” at La Catedral, all of Colombia goes into lockdown with dangerous new forces joining the effort to recapture Escobar. And whatever history records, it at least looks as if one of our leading heroes might not make it out alive.

So reads the synopsis:

Narcos chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the infamous drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. Its gritty storytelling details the many, often-conflicting forces - legal, political, police, military and civilian - that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world’s most valuable commodities.

Of course, there still remains the question of Narcos Season 3, especially as Season 2 experienced a bit of showrunner turnover. A new subject for a third season seems possible, if not sticking with the cocaine trade beyond Escobar’s possible death, though Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl) and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) might not then participate.

In the meantime, Narcos Season 2 will premiere all episodes on September 2, the teaser and photos for which you can find below.
