NBC Cancels ‘The Event,’ ‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’; ABC Drops ‘Brothers & Sisters,’ ‘V’ and More
The networks continue to clean house this week.
‘The Event’ was initially a big ratings draw for the Peacock network, with 11.2 million tuning into its premiere episode last fall. But by the end of its run, the show, which starred Jason Ritter (pictured), averaged just 7.4 million viewers per-episode.
‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’ struggled for most of its season – so much that, at one point, the show had to be retooled by creator Dick Wolf.
As for ‘Outsourced,’ the show earned decent ratings in its Thursday-night time slot, despite mediocre reviews from critics.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, ABC followed by canceling a whopping six of its shows: ‘Brothers & Sisters,’ ‘Detroit 1-8-7,’ ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ ‘No Ordinary Family,’ ‘Off the Map’ and ‘V.’
On a lighter note, NBC also announced today that fan favorite ‘Chuck’ will be back for a fifth and final season. ABC, meanwhile, says ‘Shark Tank’ will be back for season 3.
