All the Tanners and Gibblers will look up and shout “Have mercy!” And Netflix will look down and whisper “You got it, dude.” That’s right, friends. The Full House has officially become a Fuller House, and Netflix will return San Francisco’s favorite sitcom family for 13 episodes with D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy Gibbler at the center.

Per Netflix’s official announcement on the matter, Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber will lead 13 episodes of Fuller House in 2016, produced by (and occasionally guest starring) Uncle Jesse himself, John Stamos. Not only that, but the streaming giant has also entered negotiations for guest appearances from Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin.

So, what are D.J., Stephanie and Kimmy up to in 2016, and who, if anyone, will have to cut it out? So reads the official synopsis:

In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max — and her soon-to-arrive baby.

So says executive producers Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin:

The continued support of Full House fans of all ages for the last 28 years has been astounding. It is an honor and a thrill to catch up with these beloved characters and explore their lives today. The love you saw on the show was real. The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life.

Well, there you have it. So continues TV’s parade of nostalgic reboots, and I’m certain I speak for everyone here, when I say that if the trend doesn’t culminate with Urkel-Bot getting his own event series crossover with the Terminator franchise, all has truly been for naught.
